Mission and Values

MISSION STATEMENT

The Highland Lakes Property Owners Association has as its mission to develop a sense of community and to promote those aspects of community life which will provide a safe and fun place to call home. We want the property owner to feel a sense of pride not only for their individual home and property but for the community as a whole.

The mission is accomplished by fairly enforcing the Covenants, Rules and Regulations, By-Laws and Policies and Procedures that have been established for the community. We will constantly work to maintain and improve common community assets and provide the opportunity to participate in recreational and social activities.

VISION AND CORE VALUES

Property Maintenance and Aesthetics – Each home, property and Association common asset will be maintained and improved in a manner that complements and maintains the spirit of the subdivision and does not detract from the value of our properties or common assets.

Good Neighbors – To strive to resolve conflict and differences between neighbors first before going to the Association or local authorities. See your home and property from the eyes of your neighbor or passer-by.

Common Good – The Association and its Directors will evaluate all issues on their merit and circumstances and not with regard to any particular individual or group.

Financial Responsibility – We will develop and administer an annual budget with concern for providing our community with the best services for the cost and value received. We will always ask the question: “Does this budget benefit the community as a whole either directly or indirectly?”

Communication, Education and Safety – To constantly keep the community updated on information via e-mail, newsletter, website, bulletin boards, mail, meetings or simply word of mouth and to listen to each other.

Constantly Improving – Whether it is the individual home or property, community assets, recreational and social activities, rules, policies or procedures, we will always be looking for ways to improve.
